per 5 seeds
A very rare banana species that has been discovered in 2002, in the lime hills of the district Bau in northern Borneo. The plant grows up to a maximum of 3 meters, and has purplish white flowers which are followed by pale yellow bananas of about 8 cm. The temperature in the natural habitat of the species is always around 30 degC, and is therefore not resistant against low temperatures. Grow the plant therefore as an indoor plant with a minimum temperature of 15 degC.
Sand the seeds with sanding paper and soak them in lukewarm water for 48 hours. Sow the seeds in sowing mix and keep the soil constantly moist by covering the soil with plastic foil or glass. Let the seeds germinate in a warm spot indoors (for example in the sun or near a heater). Germination can take a few weeks or months, and can still occur as long as the seeds are firm.
