Common name:
Kalkora mimosa

Origin:
Asia

Description:
The Kalkora mimosa or Kalkora silk tree has, in contrary to the more famous Persian sleep trees, completely white flowers with a slightly yellow tint. It’s a rare species that is quite hardy in a sheltered, sunny spot. It’s a fast grower that blooms in May and June. Like all other sleep trees the Kalkora mimosa closes her leaves in the evening and opens them again when the sun rises. A remarkable addition to your garden!

Germination instructions:
First soak the seeds in water for 24 hours. Sow them in sowing mix at 20 degC and keep the soil moist.

Sowing time:
December - August
